Richard doesn't look too thrilled either or he's got his sights set on something, cause that look is intense. |
Hmn..., I got around Deerhurst pretty thoroughly, during the time I was working on a project with their historian. But I can't place this room. I wonder if you guys got into some places that year, that were not accessible other years we were there. |

That is not Deerhurst.. it's at the toronto hotel.. you're usually quite observant.... did you not notice Richard hauling his luggage.... _________________

Great come back, Ren. LOL!!
Axially, yes I did notice Richard pulling a "handle". But I didn't get around to brightening the pic in photoshop, and looking around behind Luc, to see for certain what that handle connected. Also, I think several photos right before this one, were from places at Deerhurst. So my initial guess on that handle, was one of those carts like they have at Days Inn/former Senator in Timmins. Still, they don't have lodging any more, at the Lodge in Deerhurst. At least not for regular tourists. Their lodging is now up in the Pavillion, for short stays. Longer stays can be in the condos, etc around the Lakes and golf courses at Deerhurst.
The furniture in the background looks similar to the furniture near the Eclipse Restaurant at Deerhurst. And Richard is peering so intently at artwork/portraits along the wall, I thought it might be something about Shania. I wasn't along the year the STC convention group ate in there, so I had to rely on my imagination.
The reason I was poking thru these old fan con pics, was because I'm on a new forum I found, called "The Lone Arranger". It's folks with keyboards, who are writing songs, or composing cover songs, sort of like Paul Chevin in the Music thread here. I still want to write one good song. Have been accumulating info, contacts, equipment etc. At the rate I delve into details, it could be the 22nd century before I get it done. But it should be good.
Anyway, a fellow on that forum from Denmark, has a fine composition he made of "White Christmas", one of my all time favorite songs. And this Dane's name seem similar to the fellow from Denmark, who was with our STC convention group one year. I was looking for a photo in this thread, that might remind me of his name. I think I found it a short while ago. But now after I wrote all this, I might've forgotten already. I think it was Keld.
Meanwhile, I also noticed the fellow in the hat that looks like my brother, plus his sister. (I have to be careful how I say that ). They're from Maryland, I think. Had a nice chat with them one night at an STC dinner/dance. Anyway, you once told me his name, but I didn't get it annotated onto the group photo for that year yet. So I got off on yet another tangent, looking for pics of them with their names. I think one of them is named Teri.
Well, I've saved a few pics of Teri & Sib. And I've figured out that Keld is not the same name as the composer of a sampled sound keyboard version of White Christmas. So I guess, I better close up some of these many windows and tangents, and get back toward what I was supposed to get done today.
BTW, is Luc possibly coming to the convention this year? I think some of those young, attractive ladies from Europe, would appreciate that.

Another pic with people clearly visible. From left on near side of table is Sheri, Cody and Sam.
Other side of same table is Jack, Debbie, Linda B, new person, then Kay standing.
At next table beyond, I see possibly Phil, ? Tracy, Roger, two unknowns, Lyn, ?Andrea,
Frenchy, Ren. |
The new person between Linda and Kay is Renee.
I thought the person who you name as Phil? might be Charlie?
And one of the unknowns with their backs to camera might be Luc and the last you named certainly looks like Andrea. |
I missed this discussion. Okay at the table where I was (I am standing for some reason in this pic) were on my side Tracy, me, Richard, Lyn and Frenchy. Across from us were the German girls (Kristina and hmmm was it Nadine???) then Charlie, Luc, Andrea and Ren. |
Yep. Christina and Nadine from Germany have a great website about the Fabulous Falls, on myspace.
You can view it at this link, if you are a member. Membership is free.

I also have a site on myspace, tho I've not had time to develop it properly. Fans here on STC may know people, who've signed up as my friends on myspace, include Hardy Hemphill, Nadine, Christina, Roddy Chiong, Jasmin from Vienna, Allison Cornell, Marc Muller, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Dan Tyminski. Some of the most interesting people I've confabbed with there, are the music composers like The Wolf, The Sky About to Rain, Calling Wendy and Forever In Motion. Also some fine photographer/graphic artist enthusiasts like Myldy and Bird Girl. I'm careful about my friends. I don't have scores, or hundreds or thousands like many on myspace do.

My intro song is a composition by The Wolf, if I remember right. But I also have a backup by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. |

Bob,
I will not be there this year, yet again... Nothing Personal, I loved going to the fan conventions, and enjoyed making friends, but i have previous engagements that weekend here in Ottawa. One of my Partners friends is getting married, and all that Jazz, and with my sister who had a baby in January, i am saving up my vacation time to make it up for the holidays this year, and celebrating the baby's First Christmas... When you move away from family, priorities change, and you need to step back and look at what is most important...
I will make it out some year in the future,
before i get famous and all... even if i was famous, i would try my best to make an appearance.
Hope you enjoy the convention! _________________ Luc
