It will be great if you and Esther can attend. I missed you last year. But I enjoyed your photos and stories. They were among the very best. So if you have to wait a bit til you register, no problem from me.
Any of the other Dutchies thinking about it this year? I don't expect people to be able to afford to cross the big pond every year. But maybe there's some new ones who haven't been to the convention yet. Your country has a pretty large and active ST fan group, compared to other countries. And you folks seemed to do a really great job as representiatives last year.

It will be nice to see you again Eric. We were hoping to get together a 2nd time here in Michigan. But I'm sorry I've been too busy to keep up my end of the bargain on that.
Now I have a question for you. What does a DEERE kill, like nothing else?
I almost found out 3 wks ago. The owner manual for my friend's large DEERE yard tractor was horridly written. He couldn't figure out how to remove the mower deck to get at the 3 blades for sharpening. So from my experience growing up on a farm and in motor shops, etc., I did it for him. Then I also wrote a clearer and simpler procedure so he could do it himself.
The point of this long winded story, is that at one point, it became easier for me to lift the front of that dad-gummed tractor while my friend put blocks under the tires, than putzing around with other more sophisticated methods. I coulda killed my elderly back. Fortunately, it withstood the test.
P.S. Did I get my colors right?
You know, some day we elderly farm kids may become so scarce they'll use us for code-talkers, like the Navaho, etc. during WW II. Now where's my Allis Chalmers Orange?

Hi Debbie,
Yes, good times ahead in Timmins! I'm looking forward to seeing you and Jack again as well, not to mention all fellow Shania fans! It's not only a convention, but a "reunion" of sorts!

Hi Bob,
I'm afraid you have it a bit bass ackwards in your question above. ha....
The "DEERE" is NOT the killer. lol....
In my signature line, (Is that what's it's called?) The slogan "Nothing kills a DEERE like a MAGNUM" was born somewhere to signify the percieved farmer's rivalry between their chosen brand of farm equipment.
DEERE of course refers to the farm equipment manufacturer JOHN DEERE.
MAGNUM refers to the model of tractor in the picture you see in my avatar pic here on the message board. That's me, standing beside my pride and joy, my 1994 model 7220 MAGNUM tractor, manufactured by CASE INTERNATIONAL. My 7220 is one of three tractors that I use in my farming operation.
As I mentioned, there's always friendly rivalry between the farmers when it comes to bragging about whose brand of equipment is the best, just as there is at times bewteen car and truck owners.
And so, put another way, the slogan in my signature line is meant to say that The CASE INTERNATIONAL MAGNUM series tractors will outperform or "kill" the JOHN DEERE tractors. lol....
To each his own, but, I love my 7220 MAGNUM Tractor. When operating out in the fields, working the land, I feel like king of the World in the cab of my 7220, lol... UNTIL- it comes time to refill the fuel tank.... There are two fuel tanks on my 7220 tractor, holding a total of 95 U.S. gallons of Diesel fuel. I bought Diesel fuel in bulk earlier this past Spring for $2.79.9 per gallon. When I go to refill my 7220's tank if it's near empty, it's like I'm spending approx. $265.00! ugh... "KA-GHING!" sheesh...
When the 7220 is working hard with heavy demands being placed on it by pulling heavy tillage equipment, it will burn between 8 to 9 gallons of Diesel fuel per hour, translating into having to refuel about every 10 to 11 operating hours. I guess ya gotta "pay to play." In addition, I own two other large red INTERNATIONAL farm tractors, a 1970 model 1456, and a 1980 model 1086, which of course burn Diesel fuel. glug, Glug, GLUG... I keep telling my self- Farming is fun! ha.... I do enjoy it though- I have a lot of pride and sense of accomplishment in working the ground, planting crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat, and harvesting the crops in the Fall. It's a good life. My farming is only a secondary job though, in addition to my boring, hum-drum factory job. The farming is a good release though, and provides a departure from my cooped up factory job, which makes me feel like I'm in prison, ha... But, I shouldn't complain. Without my factory job, I wouldn't be able to afford farming as a stand alone occupation, and without my factory job, I also wouldn't be able to attend Fan Con either!
Wow, it looks like I'm writing a book here, ha. But anyways Bob, you got that straight now about DEERE?
Here's another one for ya- Regarding green JOHN DEERES and red CASE INTERNATIONALS: "If it ain't RED, leave it in the shed!" ha ha...
Actually, there's a bunch of slogans that folks dream up.
Here's a bit larger pic of me beside my 7220...

| Wow, I never thought my registration would make it in before Richard's or Eric's, but it did. Glad Eric will be there so that's at least 2 Michiganders who will be in attendance (God willing).

Don't forget Charlie that Bob A. is also signed up to attend again this year. Michigans score is up to at least three on FanCon5 representation.
