Actually this is the second time that ST has been inside the STC. She also paid it a visit during the Home Coming. |
I remember! Amazing!
And wow Ren:... I'm just speechless about the last pics you posted. WOW! AMAZING! _________________

Does anyone have a high quality version of the picture where Shania is lighting the cauldron??? I could use one for my January Calendar I want to make for my site.

You must have the wrong vid - all this one shows is the prior torch bearer and Shania getting her torch lit from his... _________________ The quintessential lean mean singin' machine has surprised and enraptured us and conquered our hearts, minds and souls again and again. |

Hmn....,
Does that mean Andrea won't have to drive from Toronto or elsewhere so often any more to catch up with ST in person?
I've had the pleasure to meet and visit with everyone in that first picture - except one person in the middle. Are you sure that isn't another poster of Shania, like the one you have in the STC lobby? She looks too tall, to be the real Shania. But in fairness, the photo does not show what any of the 5 are standing on.
Those are two nice smiles in the 2nd photo.
Also just noticed in the first pic, that Shania and Tracy might be wearing the same kind of thermal long john bottoms. So this photo might have been taken after they each participated in their portion of the torch run, outdoors in the cold. And Anita is looking photogenic there. |

Hello Everyone!
It has been a very busy week for us at the STC and one that I wouldn't trade for anything. We were able to catch up with friends from around the world and introduce them to Timmins winter, and we were able to see Shania beaming with joy as she proudly carried the Olympic torch into the Hollinger Park......truly amazing.
As Ren mentioned earlier, I had the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch for the second leg of the run through Timmins. I ran the torch from Main St. in South Porupine to Legion Drive in South Porcupine. I cannot describe the emotions as my torch was lit and people cheered......I saw my kids running in the crowd beside me and yelling "go mom" and I cried the entire way.
I should mention to you that crying and running in -40 weather is REALLY not a good thing.....but I loved every minute of it!!
As the crowd cheered, I cheered back and held that torch high as a VERY proud Canadian.
I managed to make it to the park in time to see Shania enter and light the caldron and it was truly amazing and the crowd was HUGE!!
What an amazing day for Timmins!! Thanks again to Shania for being here and inspiring so many people.

Good on you, Tracy! I would have been choked up too. But tears at -22 with a wind chill at least ten degrees below that are not recommended! I used to be a runner and ran in all weather (I was young and enthusiastic). Often the wind chill would make my eyes water. Oh boy! The only solution was to close my eyes but that is not recommended either if you are running. At least you did not have a beard covered in ice from your breath! _________________ Roger

Hi Tracy!
Wonderful to read your post about how you experienced the last week.. Wow..
I can imagine you felt so honoured and proud that you were asked to carry the torch. That feeling must be indescribable...
Actually reading how you felt when you carried the torch and your children were supporting you all the way, made me cry too. That must have been so indescribable and special. A memory to cherish forever. Oh and how it feels with tears in your eyes with -40.. I won't even thÃnk about that. We have -15 over here and I wouldn't even dare to think how it would be with -40.
You definately deserved this all; and now hopefully you can get some time off to sit back and relax and think back of all that happened last week. I hope you can think back of it and smile about every memory of it. It's definately something to be so proud of! Keep enjoying every memory of it, I cannot stop saying you definately deserved it!! _________________
